![]() ![]() The kids got just a crazy work mentality. And he, he's a farmer's son that to the point where I think Brooks now may be a second on the team in his squad, you know, something like that. His dad runs the F fa farming, you know, thing at the school. Uh, so miss this whole freshman year, came back last year, uh earned a starting job and the kids are incredibly hard worker. He broke his leg, his first play of high school football, his freshman year broke his leg right, right at the beginning of the first JV game. Um You know, quarterback Brooks over cash, uh, little undersized Brooks is about 6 ft, you know, 1 90 but it's funny about Brooks. So it's kind of give me the whole whole lowdown of, uh the guys on offense that, yeah, for sure. So, uh, quarterback last year was a sophomore, um, some cash pretty good season, um, event and we're excited about, we were running back, we're excited about. So, uh, let's get into some of these guys. Ok, that happened now, where are we going forward? Right. Um, we got young guys that are taking on that leadership role going into year two varsity and, and I think that benefited all benefited us, you know, once we're out of the season and we moved forward and go. And that's what I think that's what's happened. These guys are gonna get experience and hopefully come into the next year, the Roy junior year, be really good football players. And we said, you know, we're gonna take our licks. We took 12, uh, sophomores and had basically had 12 sophomore starting on varsity last year. We could be very good on JV and keep everyone there or we can, you know, go ahead and start bringing these guys up and getting them on varsity and we end up going with the ladder. Uh, you know, we went into last summer and we said, you know, you have two options. Um, what are some things you think went well, some things that set out positively and then what's been the main focus is offseason. Let's do a little backtrack to last year. So the, uh, the records of late say, say one thing, but, um, we, we do feel like there's a pretty solid group coming up here, uh, particularly in that junior class where I think you said you had 30 30 guys in that class. ![]() He told me and he tells everybody this is the most fun he's had coaching in a long time just because of how bought in the boys are, you know, with the cultural shift and the mindset of all these kids that, you know, we're coming, you know, a lot differently than we have in the past. I think he was a high school player there in the seventies, eighties. We said, you know, this offseason, we want to attack it and get better and I've got a defensive coordinator that's been around south for, you know, a long time, played their coach there. The program, um, as a whole has been doing fantastic. We, uh, we're really happy with the way this year's went. ![]() So I, I guess how, uh, just tell me about how the offseason has gone and how you kind of think things are progressing here. This is gonna be your third year here at South. I have Chris Walsh head football coach, South Moran High School, uh, coach. ![]()
